High Current Generators

High Current Generators

Specifications

Mobile crack testing equipment of  series HELLMAG  are designed as high-current generators for magnetisation through self-flooding and coil magnetisation.
For self-flooding the test specimen is charged with current via contact electrodes, thus behaves like a current-carrying conductor. A circular magnetic field is generated around the test specimen. Stray fields are created at inhomogeneities which are oriented preferentially parallel to the connection line of the two current contacts (longitudinal cracks). Also inhomogeneities oriented up to 60° to both sides are indicated. To record both longitudinal and transversal defects the test must be performed in two opposite directions preferably perpendicularly to one another.
For coil magnetising a current-carrying conductor is wound to a coil with respective number of windings. Upon flowing current, circular magnetic fields are created around the single coil windings which in the centre of the coil summarise to a common longitudinal field. Inhomogeneities are indicated, which preferably are located perpendicularly to the magnetic field (transversal cracks).
The high-current generators HELLMAG are characterised by their practical design and comfortable operation in daily mobile applications.
